Back-to-School Party #2

We had 60 kids come to get back-to-school supplies tonight, but it was a parent who touched me the most. She had an eight year old and three year old and went through the line and got all of the supplies they both needed, then as she was leaving turned to ask me if she could maybe have a few extra pens, as she was starting adult education classes at the high school and would be taking 10th grade classes. I went and asked for a 10th grade supply list and we gave her everything she would need (backpack, notebooks, paper, pens, highlighters, post-its, index cards, calculator, ruler, pencils and erasers). She wanted the best for her kids, but could only bring herself to ask for a few pens for herself. I have never seen such appreciation as she walked out of there with her new backpack and supplies. What a difference FACETS and our church is making.
