Back-to-School Supplies Drive

Thank you to all of our friends and family who donated to the FACETS back-to-school supplies drive! Most especially to Chasity and her personal collection of 75 boxes of crayons and 896 pencils, among many other supplies! You rock!

This was my first year as coordinator for my church and I was so surprised (but shouldn't have been!) at the outpouring of support from my family and fellow church members. There are so many homeless children in Fairfax County who will have a chance to start the school year off prepared because of your generosity. Thank you!

In all, we collected: 93 backpacks, 245 glue sticks, 66 bottles of Elmer's glue, 1842 pencils, 192 erasers, 37 packs of colored pencils, 60 pencil boxes, 107 pencil sharpeners, 21 boxes of markers, 164 boxes of crayons, 49 packs of ink pens, 26 packs of highlighters, 60 packs of post-it notes, 31 pairs of scissors, 38 composition notebooks, 343 spiral notebooks, 210 packs of notebook paper, 70 rulers, 34 packs of index cards, 17 dictionaries, 6 thesauruses, 10 calculators, 348 pocket folders, 2 flash drives, 9 protractors, 18 compasses, 4 math kits, 17 bottles of Clorox Wipes, 2 hand sanitizers, 43 boxes of tissues, 6 water color sets, 25 packs of graph paper, 64 binders, 40 book covers, 3 nap mats, 2 packs of construction paper, 1 pack of dry-erase markers, and 3 staplers! Just wait until next year when we have more than 2 weeks to collect supplies!!!
